Station Rewards ​

The WeatherXM Network uses automated, programmatic token incentives ($WXM) to reward station operators for deploying, maintaining, and operating meteorological hardware that streams qualifying ground observations.

The Daily Reward Mechanism ​

Rewards are calculated and distributed on a daily cycle (UTC 00:00 to 23:59) using cryptographic Merkle tree root updates published to the Arbitrum blockchain.

Reward Qualification Criteria ​

A station's daily reward allocation depends on objective meteorological and operational criteria:

1. Quality of Data (QoD) Score ​

Every 24-hour observation window is divided into discrete measurement intervals. A station must maintain high data completeness, within-range sensor readings, and physical sensor health. Observations that pass all algorithmic filters receive a QoD score approaching 1.0.

2. Location Qualification & Cell Density ​

Stations must have verified physical deployment coordinates. The network uses geospatial cell indexing (H3 hexagons) to balance observation density. Stations providing valuable coverage in active cells earn base station rewards.

3. Continuous Operation ​

Stations with continuous operational uptime without prolonged dropouts or power outages earn full daily allocations.

Claiming Accumulated Rewards ​

Rewards earned by your weather stations accumulate programmatically in the on-chain Rewards Vault contract. They do not expire and can be claimed at any time by the station's assigned owner wallet.

Historical Reward Programs ​

Prior to the rollout of Reward Mechanism v2.0, early network contributors received rewards under earlier testnet and Beta Boost programs.
