How Value Flows
The WeatherXM Network is designed with an economic model that aligns hardware manufacturers, station operators, commercial data consumers, and token holders in a self-reinforcing flywheel.

• $100 Hardware Onboarding Fees • Daily Station Rewards ($WXM)
• Annual Dataset License Fees • Protocol R&D & Growth1. Network Inflows
The Association Treasury generates revenue through two primary protocol mechanisms:
A. Hardware Onboarding Fees
Every certified hardware manufacturer pays a mandatory $100 USD fee to the Association for each device provisioned for network participation. This fee reflects the value of integrating into a global, rewarded observation network with pre-built cryptographic identity and reward infrastructure.
B. Commercial Dataset Licensing Fees
Enterprise consumers who monetize the aggregated Network Dataset — including commercial forecasting providers, algorithmic trading firms, and AI research subnets — pay annual commercial license fees determined through competitive auctions.
2. Network Allocations & Outflows
Treasury resources and protocol tokens are allocated across three core functions:
A. Programmatic Station Rewards
Daily token emissions are distributed to active station operators whose devices meet Quality-of-Data (QoD) thresholds, compensating operators for equipment costs, power, physical maintenance, and reliable bandwidth.
B. Protocol Development & Security Audits
Funding open-source software, sensor calibration benchmarks, cryptographic attestation modules, and independent security reviews of network smart contracts.
C. Treasury Operations & Buybacks
Reinvesting treasury proceeds through strategic buyback programs to strengthen protocol liquidity and align token incentives with real economic activity.
